Future-Proofing a Data Center for AI and Sustainability

HELHa organize a 5 days ERASMUS exchange event together with institutional and industrial partners, the event will be hosted in Mons with about 5 travelling staff members and 30 students.

Many older data centers are struggling to keep up with today’s demands — they’re not as energy-efficient as the world is asking to be in 2025, and they often fall short on reliability. At the same time, building new data centers is becoming harder due to energy supply constraints.

This project puts you in the driver’s seat of a real-world challenge: upgrading an existing data center to make it greener, more efficient, and ready to handle AI workloads. You’ll explore how to optimize energy use, modernize infrastructure, and prepare for the future of computing — all while working on a scenario that mirrors what’s happening in the industry right now.
