We are excited to announce a new collaboration between Ekami, Kotkan-Haminan seudun koulutuskuntayhtymä, and Atlantic Technological University. This initiative will allow students from Finland to study online with ATU while completing practical labs at EKAMI's facilities in Hamina and Kotka.
Our ATU team (Dinesh Babu Duraibabu, Sinéad Hanlon, and Conor Lawlor) assessed the lab and practical facilities available in the areas of cooling, power and energy, water treatment, and controls. We were impressed with the facilities and the qualifications and enthusiasm of the staff involved in this venture.
Our target is to recruit students for the B.Eng in Data Centre Facilities Engineering, starting this September. We are currently finalizing the paperwork and assessing student funding opportunities.
This initiative is crucial for the region in Finland, where the data centre industry is rapidly expanding. Kudos to the team in Finland, including Teemu Hautamäki, Kimmo Kallioniemi, and Niklas Paasalo.
This collaboration was made possible through connections established at CEDCE: Colleges for European Data Center Education, which is co-funded by the European Commission
