What We Bring to CEDCE
Through the CEDCE project, UCL aims to contribute to the development of a curriculum that creates value for students, educational institutions, and the data center industry. By aligning education with industry demands, we aim to set new standards for data center education across Europe.
UCL has prior experience in curriculum development, such as the Erasmus+ EmploySkills project. This initiative focused on enhancing employability by helping students develop both hard and soft skills to reduce skill mismatches in the job market. Additionally, UCL’s expertise in lifelong learning programmes enables individuals to upskill while remaining active in the workforce.
Collaboration and Innovation with CEDCE Partners
Since 2018, UCL has worked with CEDCE partner FMS and the Danish Data Center Industry Association (DDI) to create elective educational modules addressing data center challenges. With input from industry leaders like Google and NNIT, these modules provide students with practical, cross-disciplinary challenges. By combining the expertise of Facility Engineering (FMS students) with IT development (UCL students), we also train participants in essential soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
At UCL, we look forward to continuing this collaboration through the CEDCE project, fostering innovation in education and preparing students to thrive in the data center industry.
