Mercantec: Shaping the Future of the Data Center Sector

At Mercantec, we are thrilled to be part of the CEDCE project, where education and industry collaborate to shape the future of the data center sector. Our focus is on developing relevant, high-quality educational opportunities that meet the demands of this rapidly growing industry, while also fostering international collaboration.

What We Bring to CEDCE

Mercantec contributes to CEDCE by offering expertise in two core areas:

  • Facilities Management: Training programs for electricians and energy technicians (EQF level 4), focusing on energy-efficient solutions within data centers.
  • Data Infrastructure: Courses for IT specialists, such as data technicians (EQF levels 4 and 5), equipping the workforce to manage and maintain critical data center systems.

As part of Work Package 8 (Dissemination), we play a pivotal role in:

  • Raising awareness about career opportunities in the data center industry.
  • Sharing educational materials and project results across Europe.
  • Building partnerships with new educational institutions and industry stakeholders to expand the project’s impact.

Our Goals with CEDCE

Our mission within CEDCE is to:

  • Strengthen the connection between education and the data center industry.
  • Attract more young people to careers in this field by showcasing the opportunities and benefits.
  • Establish at least four new education-industry partnerships over the next four years.
  • Support the development of innovative, sustainable, and future-ready training programs.

At Mercantec, we are committed to shaping the future of the data center sector by aligning education with industry needs and creating sustainable pathways for the workforce of tomorrow.
