With specialties in data center facilities engineering, mechatronics, and computing, combined with over 20 years of leadership in online learning across the EU, ATU Sligo is uniquely positioned to contribute to this initiative.

Our Specialty in the Data Center Industry

ATU Sligo has strong ties to the data center industry in Ireland and developed its BEng in Data Centre Facilities Engineering in close collaboration with the “Big Five” global industry leaders. This program reflects our commitment to creating education pathways that meet industry demands, equipping students with both the technical and practical skills required for success.

What We Bring to CEDCE

We are thrilled to collaborate with top educational institutions across Europe through the CEDCE project. By building on our expertise and industry connections, ATU Sligo aims to expand its educational offerings, developing a comprehensive range of programs for the data center sector. These will include options for all levels, from apprenticeships to master’s degrees.

Through CEDCE, ATU Sligo looks forward to shaping the future of data center education while supporting the industry’s evolving needs throughout Europe.

ATU Sligo is a home to over 8,600 students across its undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship programmes.

ATU Sligo offers 80 full time and 140 part time online courses courses across three schools: Business and Social Sciences; Engineering and Design; and Science, as well as a wide range of taught postgraduate courses or research-based opportunities.

We are committed to growing our student numbers to 10,000 by 2022.
Over the last decade we’ve created a stunning 21st century learning environment making the Institute a modern campus. We have been leading the field in online learning in Europe for over 15 years, with over 4,500 online students completing 140 courses.

One of our leading online courses is the B.Eng in Data Centre Facilities Engineering, which we run with HelHa in Belgium.

ATU Sligo has an important role in driving economic and social development in the North West of Ireland.
